Transmission of Accurate Time Information Using Photonic Services
Original language description
Advances in optical networks opened a new way of transmission of accurate time information. Presented approach requires a Photonic Service. The Photonic Service represents a new type of multi-domain, end-to-end network service. This type of service alsoenables IP, real-time and non-data transmission over photonic networks. The concept of photonic services was verified on a specialized metrology application of accurate time transfer distance of 1100km. The paper discusses networking definition of Photonic Service with its implementation, laboratory and field experiments and verifications.
