Original language description
The paper deals with a speech quality assessment of voice communication in IP network. We adopted E-model which is specified in recommendation ITU-T G.107 and we modified it for our purposes, the modification lies in its simplification. Finally, we implemented the proposed approach into a developed SIP server and compared the computed MOS with values gained by an objective intrusive PESQ method (Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality). The PESQ is considered to be very precise for narrow-band codecs and is based on comparison of the reference and the degraded signal. The achieved results proved the applicability of our approach to the real-time monitoring of speech quality.
