The INDIGO-DataCloud project has been developing solutions to enable virtualized networking in heterogeneous clouds. Two particular areas were addressed. Firstly intra-site networking capability, wherein development focused primarily on allowing users to procure private virtual networks within separate cloud sites over a standardized interface (OCCI). Secondly, research end development within INDIGO-DataCloud focused on inter-site networking, i.e., interconnecting local virtual networks across multiple cloud sites, effectively spanning such networks over geographically distant sites. The combined solution consisting of intra-site virtual network procurement and deployment of virtual routers to span across such local networks - also a result of development in INDIGO-DataCloud - will be demonstrated in real-world heterogeneous environment.
