Original language description
This paper focuses on past, current and ready-to-start time and frequency metrology projects taking place in Europe and aimed at time and frequency transfer in optical fiber. It addresses both EURAMET and H2020 scope projects. We also briefly describe the involvement of National Research Networks (NRENs). As the operation of dedicated optical fiber infrastructure is very expensive, NMIs started to cooperate with NRENs that operate own optical data networks and can provide part of the optical spectrum for time and frequency applications.
