Original language description
The mass balance was calculated for various soils in the Czech Republic and maps of the critical loads of Pb, Cd and Cu were constructed. Other maps represent the exceedance of the critical load by present atmospheric and agricultural inputs, projected temporal trends and critical times when the critical pool will be reached. The maps and their environmental significance serve to decision-makers to locate regions where industrial emissions and agricultural inputs of heavy metals should be decreased in order to lower the dangerous contents of the metals in soils.
