Using methods of decision tree for identification of target population groups for health intervention
Original language description
For identification of population target groups for health intervention the data about health status, risk behaviour and passivity way of life was used, which are determined by socio-economic differences. The questionnaire data was analysed using the method of decision tree. The mathematical algorithm is based on merge of values that are judged to be statistically homogeneous with respect to the target variable and maintains all other values. The results identified the specific groups for health intervention. The advantages of this method are: comprehensive and flexible approach, easy understanding of results, possibility of heterogeneous types of variable processing and combination of this method with traditional models. But there exist also some limitations: the decision trees do neither give the general rules, nor the statistical test of general significance of the model.
