Long-term outcomes of autologous transplantation in multiple myeloma: significant survival benefit of novel drugs in post-transplant relapse

  • Original language description

utologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) has an important role in the treatment of symptomatic multiple myeloma (MM). Treatment options for myeloma have expanded in the last decade and it seems that patients who are treated with novel drugs such as thalidomide and bortezomib for relapse after ASCT have longer overall survival (OS). Patients and Methods: In this report we describe the long-term outcome of cohort 185 newly diagnosed MM patients (pts) treated with ASCT. We have analysed factors that might predict for long-term survival.
