The cool tolerant predatory mite Rhagidia gelida (Acari, Prostigmata, Rhagidiidae) indicates patchy permafrost in Czech highlands

  • Original language description

The periglacial temperature regime in cool ice-retaining scree slopes with probable patchy permafrost located at the subalpine altitude of only 300?600 m a.s.l. in the Czech highlands is described and proved by the long-term temperature measurement series and occurrence of the periglacial relict predatory prostigmatic mite Rhagidia gelida Thorell (Acari, Prostigmata, Rhagidiidae) which has a circum-boreal pattern of distribution. The life cycle of R. gelida and the seasonal pattern of activity of its developmental stages are described.

K chladu tolerantní dravý roztoč Rhagidia gelida (Acari, Prostigmata, Rhagidiidae) indikuje výskyt nepravidelného permafrostu v českých pahorkatinách
