Modelling of stomatal conductance and ozone deposition flux of Norway Spruce using deposition model

Result description

Estimates of diurnal variation of ozone deposition flux to coniferous forest in the Norther-East Czech Republic from July 2008 to August 2008 are presented. Ozone deposition velocities were calculated according to a deposition flux model incorporating aerodynamic resistance (Ra), laminar layer resistance (Rb) and surface resistance (Rc). Surface resistance (Rc) comprises stomatal resistance (Rsto). Rsto was calculated according to a multiplicative simulation model with measured local meteorological andenvironmental parameters as input. Fluxes were higher during daytime than at night corresponding to higher turbulence and higher rate of stomatal uptake. The ozone deposition is approximately 36 kg ha'1 from July 2008 to August 2008. The mean stomatal uptake of ozone is estimated to be approximately 41 % of the total deposition. Annual average deposition velocity estimated by deposition model is 0.36 cm s-1 .
