Original language description
This paper attempts to shed some light on the issue of the stability, significance of remittances flows and the Official Development Assistance (ODA) in developing countries. Specifically, it poses a question about which of these financial flows are moresignificant and stable with respect to flows into developing economies. Based on the comparative analysis of empirical data, theoretical conceptualisation and empirical modelling, the paper identifies that remittances represent more stable, effective and significant financial flows to developing countries than ODA. This outcome is based on the quantitative side and the question of effectiveness. The paper does not underestimate the importance of the ODA for developing countries. However, it attempts toshow that there might be other effective means. Along these lines, an example of such a coherent development and migration policy carried out by developed countries could serve as a solution for managing temporary and return mi gration b
