Assessing Köppen?Geiger climate classification by individual regional climate models considering the influence of bias correction methods
Original language description
We calculated the prediction of Köppen-Geiger climate classification with six individual RCM members of ENSEMBLES project in European domain in 2021-2050 and in 2071-2100 time slices. The projected precipitation and temperature data were corrected by (i)empirical quantile mapping and (ii) variance scaling of temperature, (iii) local intensity scaling and (iv) power transformation of precipitation bias corrections using with E-OBS observed data. Our goal was to investigate the influence of these bias corrections on climate projection in European domain. The bias corrections had a significant effect on the climate projection, but the degree of their effect varied in RCMs. The bias correction of precipitation had larger impact than the correction of temperature. Our results about power transformation of precipitation differed from the former results in the literature, where this correction was implemented in smaller catchments. Due to this result we concluded that the bias corrections al
