    Several versions of the magnetotelluric inversion for layered anisotropic conductors are presented. Basics of the direct problem solution and evaluation of the parametric sensitivities for anisotropic layered models are summarized. Standard linearized Occam algorithms are tested with various regularization strategies and numerical performance of the inverse procedures is discussed.
