The fifth part of the pictorial series addresses the geographical and geophysical achievements in the North Pacific region and in the adjacent countries, with special attention paid to Kamchatka. The paper is completed with a brief note on results obtained from a joint Czech-Japanese-Russian project on detection of recent climate change by borehole temperature measurements in Kamchatka.
