In inverting long-period seismic data (teleseismic and LP regional records), a gross earth model is sufficient; with decreasing periods, a more detailed model is needed

Pro stanovení momentového tenzoru zemětřesení je nezbytná znalost odezvy prostředí, kterým se seismické vlny šíří od zdroje ke stanicím. Pro inverzi dlouhoperiodických seismických dat (teleseismické a LP regionální záznamy) stačí hrubý model zemské struktury, se snižující se periodou je třeba model zpřesnit
