The Messina-Reggio earthquake of December 28, 1908
Original language description
Disastrous effects of the 1908 Calabro-Messinese earthquake are reminded. Brief theory of frequent seismic energy release in the region is given, which is founded on the plate tectonic theory. The proposals to build large engineering contructions in theMessina Strait (namely giant bridge over the strait interconnecting Calabria and Sicily) is discussed.

Jsou připomenuty ničivé účinky Kalábro-Messinského zemětřesení z r. 1908. Je předložena stručná teorie častého uvolňování seismické energie v oblasti založena na teorii deskové tektoniky. Jsou diskutovány možnosti vybudovat v Messinském průlivu velké inženýrské stavby, konkrétné obrí most spolující Kalábrii a Sicílii.
