Original language description
To overcome the frequent criticism of Dempster's rule for combination of belief functions several alternatives were defined, the consensus operator among them. Algebraic analysis of the consensus operator is presented using the methodology introduced byHájek-Valdés for Dempster's semigroup. The methodology and Dempster's semigroup is recalled. Josang's semigroup and related structures are introduced, analysed, and compared with those related to the Dempster's case.
