The paper describes contemporary situation of data sharing in Czech healthcare, studies the possibility of using international nomenclatures and coding systems to express semantics of the clinical content of electronic health record systems and presentsa proposal of semantic interoperability platform (SIP). The architecture of the SIP is described in more detail. Finally a brief summary of SIP implementation experience and deployment obstacles is given.
