The article introduces the Burst Alert Robotic Telescope (BART). It is an autonomous observatory with a 25 cm telescope, dedicated to gamma-ray burst observations and monitoring the objects interesting for high energy astrophysics. The instrument has detected afterglows of the gamma-ray bursts GRB 060218 and GRB 060512.
