Electron Acceleration in a Turbulent Current Sheet - Comparison of GCA and HARHA Methods
Original language description
Magnetic reconnection is generally accepted as the key process related to the conversion of magnetic free energy accumulated in the corona and also to the kinetic energy of charged particles during the solar flares. Using the time evolution of spontaneously cascading coronal current sheet, downscaled towards the dissipative length scale, modelled by Bárta et al. (2011), we study the process of electron acceleration. The kinematics of electrons is obtained using two various test-particle codes: the first based on a full orbit algorithm and the second on the guiding centre approximation. We present basic statistics and energy spectra of electrons accelerated in the current sheet obtained by both codes and discuss some problems related to the comparison of results acquired by both algorithms.
