Rayleigh Scattering as an Opacity Source in Stellar Atmospheres
Original language description
There are many different opacity sources in stellar atmospheres. Due to limited computational capabilities, the less important opacity sources are usually overlooked in stellar atmosphere models. Rayleigh scattering is frequently neglected in model atmospheres, which is not always valid. We study the influence of Rayleigh scattering by hydrogen and helium on computed stellar atmospheres of hot stars with solar chemical composition and of some types of chemically peculiar stars.
