The reaction of the subependymal layer of lateral brain ventricles to striatal ibotenic acid lesions in a long-term study.
Original language description
Elevation of proliferative activity in the subependymal leyer of lateral brain ventricle in adult rats was found 5 weeks after ibotenic acid lesion of striatum. The intensity of cell proliferation slowly decreased in the following 8 days. Elevation of proliferative activity in subependymal leyer after CNS damage may belong to self-recovery brain mechanisms.
