Genetic defects of cytochrome c oxidase assembly

  • Original language description

Cytochrome c oxidase (COX), the terminal enzyme of the mitochondrial respiratory chain, is one of the key functional and regulatory sites of the mammalian energy metabolism. This review summarizes recent developments, including our efforts in elucidationof the molecular basis of human mitochondrial diseases due to specific defects of COX with special focus on SURF1 assembly protein

Genetické poruchy asemblace cytochrom c oxidázy

  • Czech description

Cytochrom c oxidáza (COX) jako terminální enzym dýchacího řetězce představuje jedno z klíčových míst funkce a regulace energetického metabolismu u savců. Toto review shrnuje nové poznatky včetně našeho úsilí objasnit molekulární základ lidských mitochondriálních onemocnění způsobených specifickým defektem COX se zaměřením na asemblační protein SURF1
