The influence of chronic treatment with sulodexide (glycosaminoglycans from heparin-like and dermatan fractions) on endothelial dysfunction was studied in rats with streptozotocin-induced diabetes mellitus. This treatment lowers the number of circulatingendothelial cells and improves endothelium-dependent relaxation of small arteries. These findings suggest endothelium-protective effect of sulodexide in streptozotocin-induced diabetes

Czech description
Vliv chronického podáváním sulodexidu (směs glykosaminoglykanů z heparinové a dermatanové frakce) na endoteliální dysfunkci byl studován u potkanů s diabetem vyvolaným streptozotocinem. Tato léčba snižuje počet cirkulujících endoteliálních buněk a zlepšuje na endotelu závislou relaxaci malých arterií. Výsledky naznačují protektivní vliv sulodexidu na endotel u streptozotocinového diabetu
