Molecular structure of purinergic P2X receptors and their expression in hypothalamus and pituitary

  • Original language description

Purinergic P2X receptors represent a novel structural type of ligand-gated ion channels activated by extracellular ATP. So far, seven P2X receptor subunits have been found in excitable as well as non-excitable tissues. In this work we summarized recent investigations about the structure of the P2X receptors, and expression and physiological roles played by the ATP and P2X receptors in the anterior pituitary and hypothalamus

Molekulární struktura purinergních P2X receptorů a jejich exprese v hypothalamu a hypofýze

  • Czech description

Purinergní P2X receptory představují nový strukturální typ ligandem aktivovaných iontových kanálů aktivovaných extracelulárním ATP. Dosud bylo nalezeno sedm podjednotek P2X receptrů v excitabilních i neexcitabilních tkáních. V tomto přehledu jsme shrnulisoučasné poznatky o struktuře P2X receptorů, jejich expresi a roli, kterou ATP a P2X receptory hrají v hypothalamu a hypofýze
