Original language description
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of NADPH oxidase inhibitor ? apocynin - on blood pressure rise in borderline and spontaneously hypertensive rats. This treatment partially prevented blood pressure rise in both models, but it has noinfluence on nitric oxide synthase activity. However, apocynin decreased production of reactive oxygen species and thus prevented a decrease in cGMP formation
