Azilsartan Improves Glycemic Status and Reduces Kidney Damage in Zucker Diabetic Fatty Rats
Original language description
The efficacy of azilsartan medoxomil (AZL-M), an angiotensin II receptor blocker, to ameliorate metabolic syndrome and kidney damage associated with type 2 diabetes was investigated using Zucker diabetic fatty (ZDF) rats. AZL-M treatment decreased bloodpressure, reduced renal damage, oxidative stress and inflammation in ZDF rats. This data demonstrated that anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative activities of AZL-M contribute to its kidney protective action
