Dichloroacetate stimulates changes in the mitochondrial network morphology via partial mitophagy in human SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cells
Original language description
We determined the effects of DCA treatment on the mitophagy in human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells. In 3 groups (Control, NH4Cl & chloroquine), each group of cells was treated with DCA at 0mM, 5mM, 30mM and 60mM for overnight. Samples were analyzed for cell viability, mtDNA copy number, mitochondrial structure and protein expression of key proteins involved in mitochondrial dynamics like, LC3b, TFAM, FIS1, OPA1,PARKIN and PINK1. DCA produced a change in the protein expression of key proteins involved in the mitochondrial dynamics, but do not significantly affect the mitochondrial mass. Thus DCA could favor a remodeling of the structure of the mitochondrial network
