'PNG-library' is an ANSI C library for lossless image compression for use by programmers, dealing with photorealistic imaging and image manipulation. Plan 9 is a progressive, modern distributed modular OS made by the original creators of UNIX. A port of'PNG-library' to the Plan 9 Release 3 operating system is now freely available, to encourage software developers and enthusiast scientists to move to this revolutionary new platform.

Předložen je port grafické knihovny PNG pod operační systém Plan 9. Jde o bezztrátovou kompresi digitálního obrazu, široce používanou zejména ve webových aplikacích. Operační systém Plan 9 vznikl v Bellových labotatořích. Je to progresívní distribuovanávýpočetní platforma vzniklá znovunavržením UNIXu, vhodná pro výzkumné programy.
