Karst, especially in carbonate rocks, serves as significant loci for economically important accumulations of mineral deposits exploited by our civilisation. There are known more than 30 types on metallic and nonmetallic mineral deposits, some of them representing dominant reserves in the World. Karst-host rocks belong also to important mineral deposits - limestones, dolomites, sulphates, salts.
