Sonapteris gen.nov. is established for two new species S. barthelii sp. nov. and S. pilsensis sp. nov. from the Bolsovian and Westphalian D of the Pilsen Basin, Czech Republic. Sonapteris bartzhelii sp. nov. and S. pilsensis sp. nov. were studied palynologically and morphologically. Both species are based on fertile specimens, which show branching system bearing fertile organs, annulate sporangia and spores of a botryopteris type.

Czech description
Nový rod Sonapteris se skládá ze dvou druhů, S. barthelii a S. pilsensis z bolsovu a vestfálu D plzeňské pánve. Sonapteris bathelii a S. pilsensis byly studovány palynologicky a morfologicky. Oba druhy představují nálezy s fertilními orgány, anulátními sporangiemi a sporami botrypteridního typu.
