The Albergaria-a-Velha uni is one of the several tectonostratigraphic units along the metamorphic belt comprised in the Porto-Tomar shear zone (Ossa Morena zone, western Portugal.The strong deformation and low grade metamorphism preclude interpretation as to the original sedimentary facies, but palynology points to Lower Devonian to Lower Carbonierous turbidite and possibly pro-delta deposits.The diversified Upper Devonian acritarch assemblages allow a biogeographic correlation with a Laurussian realm.

Czech description
Jednotka Albergaria - a -Velha je jednou z tektonostratigrafických jednotek podél metamorfního pruhu Porto-Tomar na západě Portugalska. Metamorfní postižení nedovoluje přímé určení facií, ale palynologie a vzácně zachované sekvence ukazují na devoské a raně karbonské turbidity a deltu. Diversifikované asociace akrtiarch dovolují určit biogeografickou příslušnost k Laurusii, na rozdíl od jižního Portugalska.
