Magnetostratigraphy and fold tests from Račiška Pečina and pečina v Borštu Caves (Classical karst, Slovenia)
Original language description
Speleothems from caves of Račiška pečina and Pečina v Borštu (SW Slovenia) were subjected both to thermal and alternating field demagnetization; received results from specimens belonging to the same sample of the same layer were identical. Unblocking temperatures of 540 to 560 oC on average pointed to magnetite as the principal carrier of magnetization. Negative fold tests were obtained on dome-like stalagmites of different sizes and ages (Pleistocene, Pliocene) and magnetic polarity from both caves.
