The field trip covered three principal themes. First one was devoted to a uniquely preserved sequence of magmatic and metamorphic rocks recording the important Variscan events. The second theme covered the petrogenesis of (ultra-)potassic syenitic to melagranitic rocks (durbachites). The third topic was focused on the distal ejecta of the Ries impact event - the Czech tektites (moldavites).
