A new species of the Oligocene pomfret fish Paucaichthys (Perciformes; Bramidae) from Iran
Original language description
A new species of the family Bramidae, Paucaichthys elamensis sp. nov., is described from the Oligocene of the Elam locality (Iran). The new species is represented by a single juvenile specimen that is morphologically strongly similar to the holotype of P. neamtensis from Romanian Carpathians, but differs in its morphometric and meristic features as well as its dynamics of ossification.
