First record of the family Moronidae (Perciformes) in the Menilitic Formation of the Litenčice locality (Oligocene, Rupelian; Moravia, Czech Republic)
Original language description
The Litenčice locality (Moravia) has provided numerous Lower Oligocene (Rupelian) marine fish fossils. Three incomplete records described herein are assigned to the family Moronidae (Perciformes), mainly based upon the highly specific morphology of their scales. This is the first record of this family from the Menilitic Formation of the Carpathian Flysch zone.
