The book chapter reviews all aspects of mineral precipitation occurring during the freezing of karst water in the caves. The addressed topics include: theoretical principles of freezing of mineralized aqueous solutions in caves, subdivision to environments with rapid water freezing and slow water freezing, mineralogy and morphology of cryogenic minerals formed in these environment in limestone and gypsum karst, and stable isotope systematics of cryogenic cave minerals.
