A new find of Carboniferous limestone boulder near Kučerov (Badenian clastics, Carpathian Foredeep, Czech Republic) – discussion of paleontological, biostratigraphic, and microfacies data
Original language description
Carboniferous limestone boulder which originates from the Badenian basal clastics of the Carpathian Foredeep near Kučerov village was studied in detail. Floatstone with packstone/grainstone matrix rich in various bioclasts was observed. Abundant foraminifers include stratigraphically important taxa of the upper Tournaisian MFZ 8. Brachiopods including fourteen taxa and trilobites of the genus Cummingella were discussed. According to the new data, the boulder might originate in the limestone succession of the Líšeň formation near Mokrá village or in the limestone olistoliths of the siliciclastic Culm facies.
