High-resolution magnetostratigraphy and micropaleontology across the J/K boundary strata at Brodno near 'ilina, western Slovakia: summary results.
Original language description
Magnetostratigraphic and micropalaentological investigations of the J/K boundary limestones of Brodno, West Slovakia resulted, thanks to favourable conditions, in a high-resolution profile across that boundary. Two reverse subzones that can be correlatedwith those in the M-sequence of marine anomalies were detected within magnetozones M20n and M19n, respecively. The duration of transition from N (R) to R (N) polarity of the Earth's magnetic field was estimated to take about 5 ka. The relation between magnetozones and the Calpionella Standard Zone and hence the J/K boundary is discussed.
