The Devonian in the Easternmost Variscides, Moravia: a Holistic Analysis Directed Towards Comprehension of the original Context.
Original language description
The paper is concentrated on evidence for three new concepts, which were introduced by the authors since the beginning of 1990s: 1/horizontal tectonic rotation in Moravia based on evidence in sedimentology, paleobiology, structural geology and paleomagnetism; 2/ Middle Devonian closing of Rheic ocean passages and opening of Rhenish passages - with emphasis on different tectonic setting of Early and Late Variscan collisions; 3/ significant role of partioning in this huge transcurrent zone between Gondwana and Laurussia (Baltica) - with rotation of domains, origin and extinction of rifts and arcs.
