In the paper we present some new existence results for nonlinear second order generalized periodic boundary value problems of the form u'=f(t,u,u.and.), u(a)=u(b), u.and.(a)=w(u.and.(b)). These results are based on the method of lower and upper functionsassociated with the problem and their relation to the Leray-Schauder topological degree of the corresponding operator. Our main goal consits in a fairly general definition of lower and upper functions as couples of functions from AC[a,b]xBV[a,b]. Some conditions.....
