Application of Gnostic Theory to Analysis of Particle Size Distribution.
Original language description
The work demonstrates the weak point of the statistical methods. It is evident that the peaks of distribution density are asymetric and often have shoulders even in cases where the distribution in unimodal. Gnostics provides distribution functions derived from theoretical assumptions. These functions proved to be usablefor description of particle size distributions. The disadvantage is that the distribution fuction cannot be defined by a few parameters, all data (size classes), filtered weights (concentrations) and the scale parameter must be given. This is the price for the added value of gnostic distribution functions.
