From Simple Models to Applications: Molecular-Based Equations of State for Polar and Associating Fluids.
Original language description
Recent systematic computer simulations on realistic models have shown that the long-range interactions in polar and associated fluids have only marginal effect on the properties of fluids. This finding makes it possible to formulate a perturbation expansion about a suitably defined short-range model. To implement the expansion, the properties of this reference must be determined and this can be accomplished by mapping their properties onto those of primitive models that are amenable to a theoretical treatment.
