Effect of The Preparation of Ir-Mo/Al2O3 Sulfide Catalyst on Activity and HDN/HDS Selectivity.
Original language description
Two series of Ir-Mo/alumina catalysts were prepared by deposition of Ir4(CO)12 on oxidic and sulfidic Mo/alumina catalyst. The catalysts were tested in the HDN of pyridine and HDS of thiophene and characterized by TPR, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction. Ir addition had positive effect on both reactions. A much larger effect on HDS activity was observed when Ir was deposited on presulfided instead of oxidic Mo catalyst. Catalysts prepared in this way displayed a promotive effect of about 3 in HDS and between 2-3 in HDN. The larger increase of HDS activity was explained by improved contact between Ir and Mo sulfide phases.
