Multicenter Bond Indices as a New Measure of Aromaticity in Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons

Result description

This paper reports the application of the recently proposed formalism known as generalized population analysis (GPA) as a new means for the quantitative characterization of the aromaticity of various benzenoid rings in polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The quantity which we propose as a new measure of aromaticity is the so-called six-center bond index.

    Práce popisuje využití nedávno navrženého formalismu tzv. Zobecněné populační analysy (GPA) pro kvantitativní charakterizaci aromaticity jednotlivých benzenových jader v polycyklických aromatických uhlovodících. Veličinou která je k tomuto účelu využívána je tzv. Šesticentrický vazebný index, jehož hodnoty charakterizují rozsah cyklické delokalizace v jednotlivých benzenových jádrech.Také je diskutován vztah těchto indexů k ostatním undexům aromaticity.
