    The present study deals with the investigation of the behavior of a trickle-bed reactor under controlled periodic conditions. The hydrogenation of dicyclopentadiene (tricyclo(5,2,1,0)-deca-3,8-diene, DCPD)on egg-shell type palladium catalyst was chosen as the model reaction. Hydrogenation of DCPD under a periodic feed rate control regime was carried out isothermally at atmospheric pressure. The optimal value of the reaction rate was found at a split 0.5 and a period length 60s. While a reaction can achieve a significant improvement the selectivity of consecutive DCPD hydrogenation was slihgtly supressed. This fact is probably caused by higher concentracion of adsorbed hydrogen on the catalyst surface in the periodic regime which favors the consecutivereaction.

    Bylo studováno chování zkrápěného reaktoru za podmínek jeho periodického řízení. Hydrogenace dicyklopentadienu na egg-shell palladiovém katalyzátoru byla použita jako modelová reakce. Hydrogenace DCPD byla prováděna za izotermních podmínek a atmosferickém tlaku při periodické modulaci rychlosti nástřiku. Byly nalezeny optimální hodnoty délky periody (60 s) a jejího splitu (0.5), při kterých reakce probíhala o 12 procent rychleji než v ustáleném stavu, ovšem v takovém případě byla pozorována nižší selektivita hydrogenace.
