    The Insecticidal Activity of Satureja hortensis L. Extracts Obtained by Supercritical Fluid Extraction and Traditional Extraction Techniques

    The acute toxicity of savory (Satureja hortensis) extracts obtained with supercritical CO2 and by traditional extraction techniques was tested on larvae of Musca domestica, Spodoptera littoralis, Culex quinquefasciatus and Leptinotarsa decemlineata and on adults of M. domestica, and the composition of volatile compounds in the extracts was determined. The efficiency of extract obtained with supercritical CO2 at 12 MPa and 50 C was comparable with that of hydrodistillate and higher than the efficiency ofother extracts, while its extraction yield was by 73% higher than the yield of hydrodistillate.

    Akutní toxicita extraktů saturejky (Satureja hortensis) extrahovaných superkritickým CO2 a tradičními metodami byla testována na larvách Musca domestica, Spodoptera littoralis, Culex quinquefasciatus a Leptinotarsa decemlineata a na dospělcích M. domestica. Účinnost extraktů získaných superkritickým CO2 při 12 MPa a 50 C byla srovnatelná s účinností vodního destilátu a vyšší než u ostatních extraktů, přičemž výtěžek superkritického extraktu byl o 73% vyšší než výtěžek destilace vodní párou.
