    Water-assisted spreading method was studied to deposit Ni from the slurries of NiO, Ni(OH)2, NiCO3.2Ni(OH)2.xH2O, or 2NiCO3.3Ni(OH)2.4H2O onto MoO3/gamma-Al2O3 extrudates. The Ni deposition was followed by electron probe microanalysis. The deposited Ni promoted the activity of Mo catalyst in hydrodesulfurization of benzothiophene about 4-5 fold.
