Deoxygenation of Vegetable Oils over Sulfided Ni, Mo and NiMo Catalysts

Result description

The work focuses on investigation of Ni, Mo and NiMo sulfided catalysts in conversion of triglycerides to hydrocarbons. Their activity decreased in the order NiMo/Al2O3 > Mo/Al2O3 > Ni/Al2O3. NiMo catalysts were the most selective to hydrocarbons. Apartfrom oxygenated intermediates, NiMo/Al2O3 yielded hydrocarbons via decarboxylation and hydrodeoxygenation while Ni/Al2O3 yielded hydrocarbons via decarboxylation and Mo/Al2O3 yielded hydrocarbons via hydrodeoxygenation.
