Original language description
Pulsed IR laser irradiation of ferrous sulfide (FeS) leads to noncongruent ablation and reactive deposition of nanosized FeS-containing FeS1-x amorphous coats on silica and tantalum and in deposition of crystalline copper sulfides-containing amorphous Cu2S phase on copper. This finding is the first example of reactive deposition of laser ablated inorganic compounds on unheated surfaces to achieve reactive modifications of irradiated materials.
