The microreactor technology is an intensively developing field containing various types of microreactor systems possessing many advantageous features. The most important feature is their high active surface-to-volume ratio ensuring the excellent controlof the local reaction conditions as well as the high heat, mass and momentum transfer. We present a novel MSR application - the homogeneous catalytic transfer hydrogenation. Catalytic transfer hydrogenations use organic compounds both as solvents and hydrogen sources. These hydrogenations are commonly catalyzed by metallic complexes such as Ru-BINAP referred to be the most active catalyst for obtaining a high enantiomeric excess, yield and activity of enantioselective reactions. We report a study wherea glass microfluidic reactor was tested for the model reaction of the hydrogenation of methyl acetoacetate. Obtained experimental results were compared with those of the conventional reactor tests published in literature.
